A bottle of wine has a tapered "neck" to minimize the surface area of wine in contact with air. Air is bad. Oxygen "oxidizes" elements of the wine . Wine also creates or releses d=gases on fillinbg that purge air from the space above the wine. Once you open a bottle thes gases could escape and be exchanged with air. Once you remove wine from a "full bottle" ( filled into the neck) you are definitely introducing air that will destroy the wine. Cheers! Peter
Actually, I have had different results with different bottles of wine. Some are going downhill within 1 or 2 days of being open, but I had a 2009 Riesling that was great to drink after nearly 2 weeks! But this is not always the case, I'm sure.
Yes, rice wine does expire. Rice wine also called sake has a shelf life of about 6 months. After 6 months sediment will begin to form at the bottom of the bottle.

Yes, apparently it can. I just used a recipe that called for long grain rice and they specifically mentioned jasmine rice as a long grain rice.
long grain rice takes longer to cook than converted rice
If you intend to follow a recipe using long grain rice in the place of Minute Rice, you should cook the long grain rice first. If you don't, the rice will be under-cooked.

The mass for one grain of rice can vary based on the type of rice. The average mass for a grain of white long-grain rice is 25mg.
a grain of rice is 8 millimeters in length and 2 millimeters in width
Long grain, short grain & short grain.
The mass of one grain of rice is 25 milligram or .025 grams. There are about 29,000 rice grains in approximately one pound of long-grain white rice.
about 5mm long ... depending on what type of rice it is ;)
Rice is classified mostly by the size of the grain. Long-grain rice is long and slender. The grains stay separate and fluffy after cooking, so this is the best choice if you want to serve rice as a side dish, or as a bed for sauces. Medium-grain rice is shorter and plumper, and works well in paella and risotto.
The weight of rice can depend on the specific type of rice grain. For example, a cup of uncooked long-grain white rice can weigh about 150 grams, and a cup of raw long-grain brown rice can weigh 165 grams.
