It can make you nauseous, it can make you go deaf if it is to loud and it can cause your body and organs to vibrate. Loud enough and it can kill.
Generally, loud and sudden music with scare a dog, or make him aggressive. I wouldn't suggest it. But, sometimes, dogs actually prefer that kind of music.
I think loud music doesn't affect your concentration. In some cases the rhythm of the music can cause a certain concentration. Then the way you remember the music you'll be able to remember what you were doing.

It's not a good idea to do so. Dogs have more sensitive hearing than humans, and music can hurt their ears if it is loud. The same goes for cats. Not to mention it may be frightening to some of them.
Music does not cause ear problems. Loud music or constant in-ear head phones may cause problems, but music at reasonable levels will not hurt you.
