Low engine oil can effect the cooling system as it creates additional friction which may be difficult for the cooling system to remove. The oil is designed to both lubricate and cool the internal components.

Can low oil effect the cooling system?

Yes. If you are low on oil your car may run hot and even your radiator won't be enought to cool it down

Why is your engine running hot?

low coolant? Plugged or restricted radiator? Water pump not circulating coolant? Cooling fan not working? Thermostat not opening? Cooling system air bound?

Will your ac freeze with to much freon in it?

No - actually, it'll have a more opposite effect. The superheat will be low, system pressure will be high, and the result will be insufficient cooling.

Why would a 2000 Honda civic si overheat?

lack of coolant . no cooling fan operation, low engine oil, improper coolant mixture, thermostat stuck, debri on radiator , restriction in cooling system.

Check engine light is on code 1299?

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1299 indicates an engine overheat condition was detected by the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor. An FMEM Strategy called Failsafe Cooling was activated to cool the engine. (Refer to Section 1A, «Electronic Engine Control (EC) System», for more information on Failsafe Cooling Strategy and the cylinder head temperature sensor.) Possible causes: -- Engine cooling system concerns. -- Base engine concerns. -- Low engine coolant level or loss of coolant.

Your coolant level keeps running low you have to top it up weekly is that normal?

No , that's not normal You either have an external leak or an internal leak in the engine cooling system

Repaired a heater hose on your 1999 Grand Cherokee now the check engine light is on is it caused by an air bubble in cooling system?

No, you may be low on coolant because of the leak.

Why does your heater blow warm air then cold air?

You may have air trapped in the cooling system. Remove rad cap, start engine and let it run for 30 minutes with the cap off while you add coolant as needed. That should do it unless you have a cooling system leak.
