Apple's operating system has a program called Boot Camp which is a system emulator. This allows you to operate Windows systems on a Mac. There is I believe a similar emulator in the Windows environment that allows Mac OSX to operate on a pc. It would be wise to check with the Computer manufacturer if it has this ability. Your machine would need a core duo Intel processors.
