The law changed a bit a minor can have there birth certificate and other documents. If you are traveling by air you do need a passport also by land it is recommended.

∙ 12y agoall a passport does is allows you to travel from 1 country from the next, if i were to go to New York to Chicago i would not need a passport but fro, New York to Tokyo i would need one
