i think this is how it goes...in 2009, you can take the SAT test as many times as you want and in the end choose your best score and enter it the university. For 2008, i believe they accept the better score.

The general conception is universities consider the latest score. So if you are really unlucky and get a lower score in 2nd attempt, in that case the higher score would be taken int consideration. Also, don't forget to check individual school websites.
