1. Must have a Russian Passport
2. Must have a Russiam citizenship
3. normal requirement for any army, No criminal history, No drugs uses etc...

As a result the Russian military is desperate to fill their ranks. In 2009, they began allowing foreigners to join up. You have to sign a 5 year commitment, speak Russian and have no criminal record. As for joining the Special Forces, it's hard to say, because so few foreigners have joined. You would have to contact the Russian military and ask. It's not listed on their website. Because of the highly sensitive nature of the Spetsnaz, it would be very difficult for a foreigner to be trusted at that level. If you join the Russian Army, you stand a good chance of loosing your American citizenship because you would have to swear an oath of allegiance to the Russian government.
