It is possible, but very unlikely.
The function of a throttle position sensor is to monitor the position of the throttle in an internal combustion engine.
The throttle position sensor is mounted on the side of the throttle body
The throttle position sensor is on top of the engine, on the throttle body, opposite of where the cables attach.
The throttle position sensor is on the throttle body. That's the part of the engine that controls the amount of air allowed into the engine. To find the throttle body, follow the air intake routing toward the engine. The throttle body is the part that sits on the intake manifold. To find the throttle position sensor, follow the throttle cable to the throttle body. If it helps, have someone press down and release the throttle pedal while you're looking for the throttle body/position sensor. The throttle cable causes a shaft to turn, that's the part that controls the air coming into the engine. The throttle position sensor is connected to that shaft.
When Throttle Position sensor is bad when you step on pedal and it does not move, engine light is on!
On the throttle body.
Look in the engine compartment from the drivers side , you will see the big rubber engine air intake tube connecting to the throttle body at the top / front of the engine . The throttle position sensor is on the drivers side of the throttle body
The throttle position sensor can be tested by moving the throttle as observing the engine's response. If it is smooth and consistent, the sensor is functioning properly.
The throttle position sensor is mounted to the throttle body on the opposite side of the throttle cables and is faceing the rear of the engine compartment.
The 2000 GMC throttle position sensor can be found on top of the engine. The throttle position sensor will be near the injector fuel pump.
The throttle position sensor tells the engine control module what you are doing with the throttle as you drive. If you let your foot off of the accelerator pedal the throttle position sensor sends that information to the engine control module and the engine will receive less fuel and it will lose rpm.
