Yes, they can live outside. Mine are ok right now, but in the fall in winter, I think best to take them inside. My dad won't let me take them inside. ={

Here's how to tell that they don't feel good or is sick.
  1. Sits at the bottom of the cage.
  2. Does not fly recently.
  3. Closes eyes everyday a lot.
  4. Barley eats or drinks anything.
  5. Does not interact.
  6. Let you touch him.
  7. Does not hang on any bars.

Here's what is SHOULD be doing.

  1. Sits on the top of the cage.
  2. Flys very much.
  3. Doesn't close eyes very long/a lot.
  4. Eats and drinks more likely.
  5. Interacts.
  6. Does not let you touch him. (Some will because they are trained)
  7. Hangs on bar on top of cage.

no i don't think they can live outdoors but if you do let them outside then they will be happy because they are free and not stuck in a cage. even though they might die in one day atleast they got to be free. birds should live out doors because that is their home and you shouldn't resrtict them from that so if you don't want your birds then let them go and have their freedom.

they can easily live in hot temperatures but being out in the cold to long will kill them very quickly. Because their small bodies can't produce enough body heat to keep their veins and capiliries from freezing and that causes heart failure in the bird.

You mean in their cage I hope.

My suggestion would be no. It's fine to take them outside in their cage with you for a bit while you're on your back/front porch reading/watering your flowers and it's completely supervised, but I would never leave it outside for long or unsupervised ever. (and I honestly can't see why you would want to bring him outside with you anyways if you're out there for just a bit) Extreme weather changes can really stress out your budgie, especially when used to controlled climates indoors. Plus, a budgie should never be put in direct sunlight, they overheat quickly. Plus, I'm sure you know to never let your budgie outside of it's cage outside at anytime. He can get hurt in about a million different ways.

Yes and they can fly for miles. Chances are very high that if you let your parakeet outside and he flies away; you'll never see him again!

No, unless you live in an area where parakeets are indigenous, then they will probably die since they are not in their environment.

What climate do parakeets live in?

They live outside (in nature) so I think ... 17-26 degrees is perfect for them. They need fresh air. But if parakeets used to (accustomed to) live in (room or something) with 25 and more degrees, immediately (quickly) changing the degrees in room can lead to disease and the parakeet can be sick.

Are groups of parakeets good?

Parakeets that live in groups are usually more friendly. In the wild, parakeets live in flocks, so it's best if you buy them in pairs.

Where do parakeets live?

Parakeets are native to several countries. The term "parakeet" is a generalised term to cover numerous species of smaller, long-tailed parrots. The word tends to be used in countries outside of the birds' native lands. For example, the term "parakeet" is never used in Australia to refer to budgies, lorikeets or cockatiels, yet these birds are commonly known as "parakeets" overseas. The general term of parakeets may refer to certain bird species of Australia, South America, Asia and Africa.
