Most of the grunge bends that played in the '90s still play today, even Nirvana, as the two left members have their own bands. Also Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains. This on the one hand means that grunge is still played today. On the other hand I think that grunge is not only a rock genre, it is a movement. I feel pretty grunge today, as we confrunt the same problems. I think that real things in nature don't disappear, only transform. I think that grunge has been assimilated in new genres. One good example is Nine Black Alps that I think is real
Grunge is just like Indie, hipster, etc. Like a category for recognizing people.
i think that post grunge is grunge music in the '00s after the grunge era had died out
How can it be when there are so-called Christian Rock bands? Music is simply music. It isn't satanic rock music is satanic! if you play some rock songs backwards they blaspheme jesus christ
Modern day "grunge" is no longer called "grunge".... Modern day bands with stylings similar to grunge are classified as "post grunge"....
Nirvana is played on anything rock, grunge, or from the 90's.

Grunge affected the fashion and musical world of the 90's. Even some rappers as Dj Quick, Eazy E, 2Pac were wearing flannel shirts back in the day. Grunge was the most popular form of Hard Rock for about 6 years. It was so popular that bands like Silverchairs, Bush etc jumped the bandwagon and started to play pop Grunge known as Post-Grunge to cash in. Even Radioheads first hit '' Creep'' and Oasis 'Supersonic'' 'was in performed in the Grunge rock style.
The Grunge Years was created in 1991.
