No, they are tropical fish but can live in cold water aquariums if you keep the water around 74 degrees. The Plecostomus will die in water below 60' but don't push them, They are meant for tropical aquariums.

Plecostomus can survive in cold aquarium water as long as room temp does not go to low. Their life span will shorten, and aggression and stress will cause problems. If one must have a pleco in a cold water aquarium one must consider a Bristle nose pleco which only grow to 4 1/2", opposed to the common pleco which grows to 24". If kept with gold fish make sure one is feeding the pleco very well or it might just suck the slim off the goldfish causing them to die.

Can a goldfish live with a pacstamus?

I am guessing that you mean a Plecostomus. The answer is NO. Each of the species needs totally different conditions. Goldfish are cold water fish and suffer when the temperature goes over 75F. Plecostomus are tropical fish and suffer when the temperature goes below 75F. They will both survive for a while in one anothers parameters but eventually they will die from living in the wrong conditions.
