Cats are strict carnivores, while rabbits are herbivores. A cat shouldn't be fed rabbit food as it will provide no nutrition to your cat whatsoever. Feed it cat food, which is appropriate and will provide the cat with the nutrients it needs.

∙ 12y agoNo, rabbits can't eat cat food. Rabbits will eat cat food but that doesn't mean it's okay: rabbits will nibble on many dangerous things including electric wires.

Rabbits are vegan: they don't eat any animal products at all, and they don't need nearly as much protein as cats do. Rabbits also need lots of fibre, which cats don't need. When animals don't eat the right diet, they get sick and die. Rabbits need to eat a rabbit diet, which includes lots of hay, fresh greens, and rabbit pellets. Treats for rabbits includes fresh fruits and veg. Never feed cat food to your rabbit, not even as a treat.
If your rabbit accidentally ate some cat food, keep an extra close eye on her for a few days and be ready to provide treatment if she gets sick (first aid or at the vet's, depending on how sick she is) -- and really encourage water and hay consumption so she flushes the cat food out of her system. Call your vet when it happens so that he or she will be ready if you have to bring the rabbit in.
