Yes , rats have great hearing.That is why it is easy and possible to train them to come to their names.But , because of their great hearing , their ears are very sensitive . So in that case, if you have or are planning on getting a rat , if their ears become dirty or are dirty when you get your rat , do not stick anything in their ears to clean them or it will mess up their hearing . I would recommend if you are getting a rat, do Not buy a rat with dirty ears because that can lead to ear infections and then hearing loss.But ,anyways, if your rat's ears are ever dirty DO NOT clean them they will clean them themselves.

∙ 15y agoyes rats can hear. All rats have ears. If you make a hissing sound, then you will see that your rat will get a little scared since cats make hissing sounds and cats eat rats.
