Yes. Just be prepared, unless you are landing in a big city like NYC or LA, then the car agent might not ever have seen a UK license and won't know what to do. This is what the manager is for :)
Also you might want to leave off renting a car for a few days til you get used to traffic being backwards. It always took me about 3 days to stop thinking that everyone was driving on the wrong side!
Have a nice trip!
Carefull!Anyone with a valid Drivers Licence can rent a car in the USA as long as you are old enough.BUTAll requirements from the UK are still in force, so if you are baned in the UK from driving a Rental a nd rent a car in the US you are breaking the law!
Yes, you can. You may drive in the UK on a full US driving license, for up to 12 months after you enter the country, you are limited to small vehicles, so could not hire a minibus or drive a HGV. If you are a tourist, then you should have no problem hiring a car, this is something that happens regularly. If you have migrated to the UK, you will need to apply for a UK license as your US one can only be used for 12 months.
You can rent an F1 car from The Jordan Company in the UK. You may have to cover the cost of shipping it to the US.
driving license is definatelly needed by policemen
Yes, but you must have an international drivers license or drivers license paired with passport and major credit card.
No. However, if you need to rent a car, you can use your passport as ID.
17 if you have a provisional license. 18 to drive it on the road in the UK but it varies in the us
Yes, so long as it is a valid licence for the car or motorbike you will be driving in the US.
Yes, the only requirement for applying for a GB licence is UK residency, citizenship is irrelevant.
If you rent a car in the US it should come with all insurance required legally in the US. The car rental company may sell additional insurance. You could probably find a UK insurance company to do this but it would be more expensive and not necessary.
If you're here on a visa, you may operate a regular passenger car on your UK licence. If you become a permanent resident, you will need to get a US licence issued from your state of residence.
no. the UK is a US ally. thats a silly question.
