Mechanical robots do not grow in the biological sense of the word but they are currently able to self modify. Experiments have taken place using modular robots which will connect together to form a more complex machine in response to external stimulus and situations. If this could be termed growing then yes it's possible.
There is also experimentation in biological like polymer muscle like tissues which can be instructed to flex, grow and contract which are being used to simulate biological movement. These tissues give a more human like movement which differs from the jerky movement provided by mechanical means.
Its not growth in the true meaning of the word but scientists are moving along that path with a self replicating robot being the goal.
