yes i made a mini hho cell and used water with salt mixed in it and it worked.
Since salt increases waters' electrolytic properties PLASTIC furniture would be best.
The only reason to use salt in a pool is so that it can be broken down by an electrolytic cell, into chlorine. There is absolutely no reason to use salt if you dont have a salt system.
Yes, electrolytic cells require salt bridges for their operation. Salt bridges help maintain electrical neutrality by allowing ions to flow between the two half-cells, preventing the buildup of charge and enabling the cell to function properly.

electrolytic
Electrolytic caps are polorized and are used for filtering and will charge up to a DC value as in power supplies.
I don't believe it is the citric acid which makes Gatorade an electrolytic solution. I think its the salt which makes Gatorade an electrolytic solution because when salt is dissolved in a liquid, the already charged NA1+ and Cl1- ions are spread throughout the liquid, allowing it to conduct electric current, thus allowing it to be an electrolytic solution. I'm not really too sure though, because NaCl overall will have no charge so I'm a bit confused by this as well. Anyways all I'm sure of is that salt+water=water conducts electric current. -Random 8th Grader
electrolytic battery
Salt contain important minerals that help make the fluids in our bodies electrolytic. That means that they are able to carry an electrical impulse and that is essential for many metabolic processes.
