Many software titles do work, but others do not - It really depends upon the software. There is no single yes or no answer to this question other than that.
Windows 2000 Professional, XP and Vista
Only Windows Vista, Windows XP PROESSIONAL, and Windows 2000 Workstation clients can process the software installation policy.
The main file, EG:a game file. the game may run but any other files contained with the main archive may not open eg: help file. Depending on what software you are running will depend on what will work on windows vista but usually the software will run on vista but the help file may not open. If this happens go to the companys/software creators website and enter the software code and search for help. If this still does not work then send the software creator(s) an email or fax.
Not sure how to answer but Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows, 2000, XP, VISTA, 7, MACOS, Ubuntu and others.

Windows 2000 can be upgraded directly using Windows XP Professional or Windows Server 2003. The newest operating system in it's class is Windows Vista Business or Windows Server 2008, depending on whether you are using Professional or Server, respectively.

Windows XP Professional is the successor to Windows 2000 Professional. Windows Server 2003 is the successor to Windows 2000 Server.
Windows 3.0 is not a version of Windows available for the Windows Vista GUI. Any version of Windows before Windows 2000 are also not available.
