Can some one help with this simultaneous eqaution. Five apples and 7 pineapples cost 5.84 9 apples cost the same as 2 pineaapples make a simul equat to find cost of 1 apple and 1 pineapple?

5 apples + 7 pineapples = $5.84, but 9 apples = 2 pineapples, so 1 pineapple = 9/2 apples = 4.5 apples. Substituting, 5 apples + (7 x 4.5 apples) = 5 apples + 31.5 apples = 36.5 apples = $5.84. If 36.5 apples = $5.84, then 1 apple costs $5.84/36.5 = $0.16 2 pineapples cost the same as 9 apples, then 1 pineapple costs 1/2 x 9 x $.16 = $0.72. The cost of 1 apple plus 1 pineapple is ($0.16 + $0.72) $0.88.
