Can someone remove a laptop hard drive to download the information and put it back without you knowing - I just noticed that the screws for the hard drive are missing from the bottom of my computer?

Yes you could do this-they would just need a hard drive enclosure to mount it in, then they could attach it to their computer as a second hard drive, and copy any files over that they wanted.
