An Autistic person can join the military just like a person of any other neurology.
Functioning labels such as 'high functioning' are offensive and prejudice against Autistic people, they also say absolutely nothing at all about the individuals symptoms or severity of their symptoms. Please do not use functioning labels, if you don't understand the reason please educate yourself.

∙ 12y agoNo. The military needs people in good shape and full abilities to serve in hazardous situations. Having a disability can be a major liability to the individual and this unit.

It is highly recommended that these 'break-throughs' be regarded with a pinch of salt. At current the neither CDC nor the FDA recognises any medication based cure or treatment for Aspergers Syndrome however drugs like Ritalin may be proscribed for ADHD like behaviours.
