The answer below is fairly uninformed and sounds quite biased. Suboxone does not show up as any other drug, opiates for instance, on a drug test. It has been reported to occasionally cause false positives however. From what I hear possibly benzos, or if the drug test is testing specifically for oxycodone in addition to opiates in general, it may cause a false positive for oxycodone, but not for opiates. I don't know anyone personally that has had that happen, nor has it happened to me, but just be aware that the possibility is out there.

Also, a clarifying point, suboxone does not stay in your system for 6 months (I don't believe any drug legal or illicit has a half life that long), most certainly not after one use. I've heard as long as 25 days or so, if you have been on the maintenance for months or years. The average seems to be 36-72 hours, depending on dosage. The other information about drugs in your system is way off as well, but that information is not pertinent to this question. I believe he may be thinking of a hair follicle test, which can detect left over traces of use for around six months. I don't think this information is at all accurate.

I think it is important that there be good information for these questions. While it is not the most ideal option, it certainly works for treatment of opiate addiction and is miles better than methadone. I was addicted to opiate pain killers for a long time and did the suboxone maintenance program for a year and a half. You will not become "another statistic". I believe is is a terrible and misguided thing to try to deter anyone sincerely seeking help from properly using this drug, because 100% to the contrary, if you do, you will most certainly save yourself from becoming another statistic of opiate addiction. You probably have as much chance of getting hit by a falling airplane than dying from the proper medically supervised use of suboxone. The below post did however hit the nail on the head about mixing other drugs with suboxone. Mixing any two illicit drugs is very dangerous in general, but mixing suboxone (and all opiates) with benzo's is extremely dangerous and life threatening, often causing death. Be very aware of this risk, it is very real and I have personally lost several close friends to this deadly cocktail. Be weary of any prescriptions such as xanax or valium, you must avoid these completely. Once more, the combination of opiates and benzo's is extremely deadly.

Can suboxone be dissolved in urine to make test positive?

Put it in your mouth and swallow. The test is not looking for suboxone. It's looking for the metabolites of it, which are produced when you take the drug and it processes through your liver. But I need to know: Why do you want to come back positive on a drug test?

What does suboxone show up as on a UA?

Standard urine drug tests used in medical and employment settings do not usually test for Suboxone's active ingredients (buprenorphine and naloxone) or any of their metabolites. This means Suboxone will not show up on standard drug tests. Suboxone will not show up as any opioid. However, special tests such as gas chromatography can be conducted on urine samples to look for buprenorphine, the active ingredient of Suboxone. If the lab specifically looks for Suboxone or buprenorphine, it will come up positive as buprenorphine.
