will a ABS hub assembly fit on anon ABS assembly hub for 2005 buick lacrosse
The ABS sensors are located in the hub assembly. In this case, it is necessary to replace the hub assembly with the ABS sensor inside. You might just check your wires in case the wires behind the hub have frayed or broken. This applies especially if the problem is the passenger side ABS sensor.
The ABS Sensor is located inside of the hub, which is replacable only by replacing the entire hub assembly as a unit.
they are part of the hub assembly
I have 1997 Nissan Maxima. You ned to replace the entire hub assembly. My problem is that they discontinued the 1997 hub assembly and the suggested replacement part's ABS ring is 4MM taller therefore the ABS sensor cannot clear the ABS ring. Any ideas on this one?
you probably need to repalce one of the front wheel bearings(hub assembly). the sensor for the abs is located in the assembly
probably the wheelbearing in the hub assembly not replaceable on its own hub, bearing and abs sensor one integrated assembly and must be replaced as such
commonly a wheel hub speed sender is bad.. requires a new hub/bearing assembly.
You have to pull the entire hub assembly. Not a easy fix. Takes about 3 hrs per hub to remove them. The ABS sensors are then seated on the back of the hub. Not hard to put on the new ones, but good luck removing the old ones.
remove wheel, caliper, brakes, rotor. unplug abs connector and unbolt hub. install is reverse.
It will bolt in but the abs light will illuminate and the abs will not function.
The ABS sensor is part of the hub wheel bearing assembly. The hub wheel bearing will have to be replaced. This involves removing the wheel, the hub axel nut and then three torx screws which attach the hub wheel bearing assembly to the steering knuckle. A puller tool will be neede to separate the hub bearing from the steering knuckle. If the hub bearing is heavily rusted to the steering knuckle you may need to heat the metal in order to loosen the rust connection.
