No but u have a small say in it.
I think that you should have the right to decide which parent you want to live with!!!
see links below
I believe it is 13-years-old.
It might depend on your parents decision. I'm not sure.
Legal age to decide which parent to live with in the state of utah?
I live in Maine. I went throught a divorce in 05. My children were 11 and 13 years old. They got to choose which parent they wanted to live with. They chose the one who had less rules, no discipline, no structure and didn't work.
That would depend on whether the divorce decree stated Joint Custody or not, and probably what state you live in.
Regardless of whether a divorce is final or not, and that there are children involved, the former partner cannot stop the other from having a life. You cannot decide if your ex dates, who he/she dates, or even if they live together.
No, a child can not decide this until they are 18.
The non-custodial parent can go to court and request custody of the children. A judge will decide which parent should be awarded custody of the children. The circumstances under which the children are currently living, combined with the reason(s) they are not living with you will be a big factor in whether or not you get to keep custody of the children.
The only states with specific laws addressing this is Indiana and Texas. Beyond that, they simply have a right to express and opinion.
In West Virginia, a child can decide which parent they want to live with when they are 18.
