The 1995 Chevrolet Astro and coolant temperature sensor can be found on the front of the engine. The coolant temperature sensor will be a few inches above the thermostat housing.
The coolant temperature sensor can be found on the front of the engine, near the thermostat. Remove the coolant temperature sensor retaining nut, to replace it.

The guage on the dash uses the ONE wire sensor... This is located in the block near the drivers side. Eric First check to see if you have coolant in the radiator. If there is no coolant you will not get any reading from the temperature sensor. If there is coolant then change the temperature sensor.

The Coolant Temperature Sensor is located right between the # 1 and 3 spark plugs (they are on the drivers side the two most forward plugs).

The "Coolant Sensor", for the ECU, is right next to the water neck at the front of the engine. the "Coolant sender", for the temperature guage, should be on the back of the head at the rear of the engine!
