The coil of any sort can cause infection in the cervix if not checked frequently (every so many years at least) so it's always best to get it checked. When did you last have it checked? Sometimes they can come out or displace themselves. Infection can cause swelling upto a certain extent but you'd also have lots of pain in your lower abdomen. The symptoms that you've described sound like pregnancy to me. May be wise to go to your doctors and to see if the coils still actually there!
