I would say if it smells bad and you are experiencing discomfort such as itching or burning, you most likely have a yeast infection. Aka Thrush. Don't worry, this is all very treatable with over the counter creams and tablets. Find a pharmasist/drug store clerk you feel comfortable explaining your symptoms with and they can then help you from there. Or you can go and see your doctor who will most likely give you a prescription for a cream and/or pills. It will clear up witihin a week if treated.

There is nothing that you can "do" to stop discharging, whether you've had your periold already or not. This discharge is actually the vagina's natural way of cleaning itself. It is flushing bacteria and cells out of your vagina. It is normal and every woman has it. It can be a lot, or a little, thick or thin, white or clear. It can change throughout the month too. It is all completely normal. If it ever gets itchy down there, with a fowl smell, and the discharge is chunky (like cottage cheese), then please see your gyno. THis may indicate a yeast infection or vaginal infection.
All the time.

Personally I put black pepper on cottage cheese. Or cut up chives. I also like to put cottage cheese on top of peanut butter (crunchy for preference, yum). I've even had a pizza in Italy that had cottage cheese on it!
