No, they are two different games on two different platforms and have absolutely nothing to do with each other aside from name and premise. The one is an expansion pack to the PC version of the game and the other is a DS game.
How do you go on a date on Sims 3?
When you open the Sims 3 Launcher, it will usually prompt you, letting you know an update is ready to install, which is the patch for the latest Sims expansion pack, Generations. With this patch, you can go on dates, have body hair, change the life span of each generation (i.e. make teenage years longer, etc), record memories and other benefits. To go on a date with a sim, you can do it by two different ways: over phone, or in person. Over phone is only available if your sim is romantically involved wiith another. When it is in person, have your sim flirt until the Ask On Date interaction is available. If the other sim accepts, you are on the date. Hint, you need to actually go places with your date (i.e. movies, for dinner, to a concert), as unlike Sims 2, the basic social interactions won't cut it. If the date is successful, you get a positive moodlet that lasts for 3 hours. The same applies for a bad date, except it would be a negative moodlet. You also get memories recorded for each date, and your sim may get wishes to go on first, second, third and fourth dates after each date. I updated it today, and have found no problems.
