No, because it uses pressure to aid breathing. If two people are connected to one source of pressure, it will either not be enough pressure (assuming both people are breathing in and out in unison) or if one person is breathing in whilst the other out, the pressure will be mis-placed.

Yes. A BiPAP machine could be used as a CPAP machine, but not the other way around.

CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure) is static, the rate of infusion is determined by your physician and it stays the same. BiPAP (Bi-Level Positive Air Pressure) is when your physician determines a therapeutic range including a higher and lower pressure and the machine determines how much pressures is required between those numbers based on the patients breathing.

Therefore, since the CPAP machine would not have a high and low range, it would not be as effective a treatment for someone that requires BiPAP.

BIPAP Machine||BIPAP Machine?

A BIPAP is a form of non-invasive ventilation( NIV) therapy used to facilitate breathing. BIPAP machines can be used in hospitals, and are also available for those who need them at home. Home BIPAP machines are compact — about the size of a toaster. The machine features a tube that connects to a mask which is worn over your nose and mouth. Like other ventilators, BIPAP machines use pressure to push air into your lungs. Depending on the settings, this opens the lungs, improving the level of oxygen in the blood and decreasing the carbon dioxide. Call us 24/7 on 7303179967

Can you use nasal oxygen with cpap mask?

If you are currently on oxygen therapy your physician may add it to your cpap machine via a shuttle/shunt that is connected to the tubing. Thus eliminating the need to wear the nasal canula and the mask together.

Have a CPAP and need to run it it your motorhome?

Most CPAPs actually run on DC power, and use a "brick" power supply when connected to a wall outlet. You should check your machine and, if this is the case, you could run the CPAP from the vehicle's 12-volt system without having to use an inverter. Of course, you would need the appropriate DC power cord to do this.

What pressure do you use for infant cpap?

3-5 cmH2o is usually a good starting point for infant CPAP

Can distilled water with added electrolytes be used in a CPAP machine?

You don't breathe distilled watter in a CPAP machine, but the air brought into the machine is passed through distilled water before it is sent to your mask. This humidifies the air and prevents your mouth and/or nose from drying out while you use the machine. If distilled water is not available, you can use plain tap water, but: The reservoir in the machine will have to be cleaned more often and more thoroughlyif your tap water is heavily chlorinated, you may find the smell of it unpleasant

What is the purpose of a CPAP mask?

The purpose of a CPAP mask is to better the sleep of those diagnosed with sleep apnea. A CPAP machine provides a steady stream of oxygen through the nose and the throat while he/she sleeps. There are many different kinds of machines for each particular person based on their needs. CPAP machines eliminate snoring issues, and have also proven to lower blood pressure the following day for people who use them.

Does cpap use cause tooth cavities?

No. You are just breathing room air, the same as when you are sleeping without a CPAP.

Is it true that positive pressure ventilation is used to treat sleep apnea?

For moderate to severe sleep apnea, the most successful treatment is nighttime use of a ventilator, called a CPAP machine. Bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), is an alternative form of ventilation.

Could you show me the pillow and pillow cae and the poe used for CPAP?

These are really optional and not required for CPAP therapy use. There are several options available for cpap pillows and their cases available. Try searching for CPAP pillow in search bar of your browser/search engine. The pole being referred to is for "hose management" during CPAP therapy use. While it is helpful, again it is not required. Can a CPAP machine be used during flu virus symptoms?

Assuming you are using it for obstructive sleep apnea, yes, and it may help by allowing deep breathing during sleep to aerate your lower lung lobes to make clearing the sputum easier. Use of guaifenesin (it is in Robitussin brand and generic versions of over the counter expectorant cough medicines and Mucinex) will help loosen secretions, too. Ask your pharmacist for recommendations. If it is uncomfortable to use the CPAP machine, ask your health care professional if you should temporarily change the settings to make it still effective but more comfortable while your lungs and bronchial tubes are inflamed and irritated from the virus. Also contact them if your delivery system (full mask or nasal only) makes cough, sneezes, or runny nose a problem, there may be another delivery method that you could use during the worst of these symptoms. Keep the unit clean as you have been instructed for regular use. If you are using the CPAP for reasons other than OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) then get advice from the ordering physician about its use during the flu in your individual situation. [CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure.]

What type of water should you use with a CPAP?

Only Sterile or Distilled water should be used in CPAP machine. It is important not to use tap water or drinking water as these will leave a mineral residue in the machine and will seriously decrease the lifespan of your CPAP unit.Sodium Chloride (AKA Normal Saline or 0.9% NS) should not be used either. This contains "salt" which could cause functional issues as well.If you have a residue in your unit try using a vinegar rinse to clean the water chamber.
