We are looking for the possible blood types of a baby.

Available information:

  • Father Type B can either be BB or BO = contributes B or O gene
  • Child Type A or B - must get A gene from mother.
Baby receives one gene from each parent:
  • Mom type AA/AO + Dad type BB/BO = Baby AB, AO, BO, OO
  • Mom type AB + Dad type BB/BO = Baby AB, BB, BO, AO
Yes, a Type B parent can have Type A and Type B children, as long as the other parent can contribute the A gene.

No. He or she would have to have at least one parent that is also type B. Children of two type A parents can only be type A.

Do your children have to have same blood as you?

No - children do not have to have the same blood type as the parents. For example, if one parent has blood type A and the other has blood type AB, the child might have A, B or AB blood types. (For the child to have B, the parent with blood type A would need to be heterozygous, Ao)

What is the genotype of the parents when a woman with blood type B marries a man with type A and they have children who are AB?

If all the children are AB, then one parent is AA and the other is BB.

What will the result of O- blood plus B?

For a transfusion - blood type O can donate to blood type B. However, blood type O cannot except B-type blood. For offspring, with one O parent and one B parent - the child could be blood type O or B depending on the genotype of the parent with B-type blood.

How can a child that is born with type AB blood?

the child takes the A gene from one parent and B from the other. And the both of parent are supposed to be AB blood type, or one A blood type and the other B.

Can parent with O plus and B- have child with B plus blood?

What is your blood type if one parent is Type A blood and the other parent is Type B blood?

We are looking for the possible blood types of a baby.Parental information:Mother type A --can be AA or AO = contributes A or O geneFather type B -- can be BB or BO = contributes B or O geneBaby receives one gene from each parent: Baby is type AB = Type ABBaby is type AO = Type ABaby is type BO = Type BBaby is type OO = Type ODepending on the exact genotype of the parental blood types, the resulting children can be any one of the 4 ABO phenotypic blood types.yes

Can a child have mother with B blood type and father has AB blood type produce a child with O blood type?

Yes - but only if both parents are heterozygote, Bo. If they are both Bo, then there is a 1/4 chance that their child will be blood type O, and a 3/4 chance they will be blood type B. If the B+ parent is homozygous ++, then all the children will have + blood. If they are heterozygote, +-, then approximately half the children will be + and half -. The B- parent must be --, so their children will always inherit a - from them.

Can a o positive father have an AB negative child?

No. In order for someone to have AB blood, they must inherit the A from one parent and the B from the other. Therefore a parent with O blood could only have A, B or O children (depending on the blood type of the other parent).

Can parents with b positive and o positive blood have a child with b type blood?

Yes. parent with B and a parent with O blood traits can have the following blood types in their children : B, O, BO
