That would have very bad results. The two are not compatible.
Yes. DDR2 memory has double the transfer rate of DDR memory.
The type of memory used by the graphics card. DDR1 is slower, DDR2 is faster. They both plug into the same slot in your computer.
No
DDR. Technically, there is no "DDR1", only "DDR" and DDR2".

DDR2 RAM is slightly smaller and has square chips. DDR1 RAM has rectangular chips.
In DDR1 the Chip is in Rectangle shape and DDR2 the Chip Shape is in Square and DDR2 is Chip smaller than DDR1.DDR1 is centre cutting 7.5cm.DDR2 is centre cutting 7cm.DDR1 pin 92. DD2 pin 122.DDR1 pin is larger than DDR2.
The difference between DDR1 ram and DDR2 ram, is the advancement in technology. When you upgrade to DDR2, you are doubling the amount of flow information that can take place.
You can look for pictures of various memory types (individual chips and memory modules) by doing a google images search or on Wikipedia.
Computer uses Memory installed on DIMM Slots on Motherboards.Nowadays different versions of DDR RAMs are used (DDR1, DDR2 & DDR3).Laptops use similar memories (DDR1, DDR2 & DDR3) but in small form of DIMM Sockets called Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Modules (SO-DIMM) memories.
A type of computer memory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR2
No, you can't. First check your type, Is it DDR1, DDR2, DDR3 or maybe something else. When you know your type, in your case DDR1, you have to check the speed. DDR1 has 333 or 400, DDR2 has 553,667,800 or 1066, DDR3 has 1066,1333,1600,1800,1866,2000,2133,2200 or 2300 and even higher. In your case 333 or 400 speed. So you can replace your DDR1 depends on your speed for a 512GB, 1GB or 2GB RAM. But you have to check what is max. to place! And you can place DDR3 if you want, but then you have to change motherboard. And in that case better to buy a new computer. Sorry for my english :)
