No, it would not be caused by the difference in amp rating. This is probably caused by arcing from a loose connection either to the PSU or something internal. I would say that its a good idea to get a 13amp plug/lead for it.

Though a 6amp fused plug and lead will work the cable may not be rated for more than 6amps. If fuses start popping it will be tempting to just put a 13amp fuse in it. This would be a hazard if the lead is in question. This maybe me being overly careful.

It may also be a good idea to P.A.T. (Portable appliance tests) the unit, Earth bond and insulation tests. If you have access to the equipment and have the know-how. This is being extra careful and is not necessary but if there is a problem it would narrow down the probable cause.

Which logic family has the highest noise immunity?

Each logic family has a noise margin (also called "noise immunity") specified by the manufacturer. Manufacturers guarantee that the digital logic will still produce correct results even when some small amount of noise is superimposed on a gate output signal. The maximum amount of such noise that manufacturers are willing to guarantee is the noise margin. In order from highest to lowest noise immunity: high-threshold logic: ??? CMOS has a noise margin of 2.95 volts with a 10 V power supply. CMOS has a noise margin of 1.45 volts with a 5 V power supply. CMOS has a noise margin of 0.6 volts with a 3 V power supply. TTL has a noise margin of 0.3 volts. integrated injection logic (IIL): ???

Difference between linear power supply and switch mode power supply?

a linear power supply the noise or ripple can be reduced to mv. However it is bulky heavy and inefficient A switching power supply it is easier to filter its output but the hi frequency noise and spikes are not that ease to get rid off. The weight and size can be greatly reduced and the efficiency greatly improved

Yes, power lines sparking can be a common cause of electrical fires.

What two components in a system might give a loud whining noise?

Most likely the noise is made by the power supply or a failing hard drive.

Why digital ic produce noise?

Digital integrated circuits (ICs) produce noise primarily due to rapid switching of transistors, which generates electromagnetic interference and power supply fluctuations. The fast transitions between high and low states create voltage spikes and ground bounce, leading to unwanted signal variations. Additionally, thermal noise and variations in manufacturing processes can contribute to the overall noise. These effects can impact circuit performance, especially in sensitive applications.

I've got an old 250 watt power supply and I'm thinking about using it on a newer PC.Will it produce enough power for an Athlon 3800+?

No, it won't produce nearly enough power.

Why is my amp making a buzzing noise?

Your amp may be making a buzzing noise due to a grounding issue, a problem with the power supply, a faulty cable, or interference from other electronic devices.

9 volt power supply in place of a 10 volt?

Probably ok if the new supply can produce the required amount of current in amps.

Power supply makes a whistle noise and computer doesn't turn on?

This is caused by a blown capacitor. The electrolyte in the capacitor is boiling, and the capacitor has opened to vent the excess pressure. You will need to purchase a new power supply or have a computer technician do it for you.
