It depends on whether or not the different products are damaging, such as relaxers. If your hair is chemically treated: dyes, relaxer, perms, or jheri curl, (they still do them) you need a good neutralizing shampoo and then you need to use products for chemically treated hair. Wash you hair thoroughly, try not to backcomb (or tease your hair). If your hair has been in braids or a weave, wait at least a week after your braids were taken down before you put any strong chemicals in your hair. Condition, Condition, Condition.

Do hair products damage hair?

There are some hair products that can lead to hair damage. Not all products are bad for your hair and not all products are good for your hair either. But I will say it is good to purchase some high quality or all natural organic products for your hair. It depends on whats in the product and not the brand.

Does dyeing your hair at 14 damage it?

It depends on what type of hair dye and the quality of the products you will be using. A temporary dye will not damage your hair, but bleaching it and dyeing it could damage your hair if the hair is not taken care of. It is recommended that you get these services professionally done so your hair can be refreshed and treated accordingly. Nowadays they have color shampoo in retail stores for you to treat your own hair. It is more damaging to your hair when you change the pigment of your hair.

How often should you use coconut oil in your hair?

Once every week to two weeks. Using another oil and not letting your natural oil from your hair to repair your hair itself can damage your hair. Washing your hair too often, using too much heat and hair products and also damage your hair. Wash your hair once every three days or more if you can handle it. I do it once every two weeks.
