This is relevant if you're lost in the wilderness but not at all practical if you have a source of running water nearby. Recommendations for water intake range from 64-128 oz a day and even more if you are training in a hot climate. I don't know anybody who counts water in food towards their daily total. It wouldn' t add up to much. So you can get water without drinking beverages but drinking is the way to go.
