AnswerAlthough WD-40 is renown for a lot of things, it doesn't fare well on electrical contacts AND some plastics. Because it is a lubricant AND a solvent, lubrication is not the answer to dirty contacts and the solvent it contains may deteriorate some plastic formulae (s?). Use a good contact cleaner that does not affect plastic if it's an electrical problem; if it's a movement problem get a syringe type oiler and sparingly lubricate the problem surface. I do prefer to use an electronic contact cleaner on my Sable - works better than a spray lube.
