Actually if you choose to broadcast SSID security of your network is even lower.
The list of available wireless networks, it should specified as "secured".
First of reboot your computer, second try to update the driver for your wireless adapter. Also make sure that you are allowed to connect to those findable networks. If you can see the networks it does not mean that you can connect to it. Many people use secured wireless networks which protects networks from unauthorized access.
true
Secured wireless networks are networks with, usually, a WAP key. A WAP key is located on the actual modem and/or wireless device, etc. Some setups may allow the creator of the network to establish a password in replacement of a standard WAP key.
Usually they come preconfigured for non-secured networks and you need just to plug it in.
Two are : WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access )
Using a wireless encryption key i.e WPA (Or less secure WEP) and MAC Address filtering. You can also stop the broadcasting the SSID, however the wireless access point can still be picked up.
you have to go into network settings and press configure or something until you get to a place that says search for network. It will then search for any wireless networks. Some networks are secured and some might not be. You have to enter the code that is on the computer to unsecure the network. they are the same and no they are not secure! Wireless Internet is only a part of Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi referring to all "wireless" connectivity under a certain broadcasting frequency. So, in short, there is no difference.
Wat are three ways a wirless network can be secured
Usually you just need to set each access point a different name and use a different password (for secured connections). Wireless networks usually do not interfere with each other as far as they have different names.
