refrigerator magnet, (paper clips+nails)
A typical paper clip will cause a small "short" in the microwave energy inside the oven, but likely will cause no harm. Metal of any sort can become hot because of the RF currents that will travel through it and possibly cause a fire if there are flamable items in contact with it.
A microwave oven MAINLY heats hydrogen atoms, thus it warms water. A dry paper plate is less affected than most food, but beware of a wet plate.
The paper clip is usually metallic - and will most likely contain iron.
Magnets will stick to iron paper clips, but not to plastic ones.

Paper plates should not be used in a microwave unless they are microwave safe. Ordinary paper plates have a very thin coating of wax, which when heated in a microwave will catch fire.
Most binders have plastic windows that allow a user to slide paper into the cover of the binder to customize it. If a binder does not have this window, you can attach customized paper to the outside of the binder using clear packaging tape or clear contact paper.
