I have an AAS in Medical Transcriptioning and want to become a counselor what programs should I enter?
There are many types of counselors. First, define exactly which kind of counselor you are interested in becoming. Once you identify the type of counselor, I would meet with a career adviser at the school you plan to attend. I assume your AAS was taken at a community college. You can still attend the community college to take the prerequisite coursework needed for your intended major, and it will be less expensive. Remember, in most fields, the minimum educational requirement for a counselor is a master's degree particular to a specialty. Some (but no many) credits you completed through your AAS degree will apply toward your next degree based on your specific career goals and objectives.
