Absolutely!! I was born without the enzymes that break down sucrose within the intestinal tract. That makes me intolerant to sucrose, there are people out there that are allergic to it as well.

I know if I ingest something with dextrose in it I feel very depressed and irritable. I also have a mild form of Tourette's syndrome, which typically does not pose a problem for me. However, I have terrible TS symptoms; rapid blinking eyes, twitchy muscles, and anxiety; when I consume dextrose. I make sure to read my food labels. I used to use a lot of artificial sweeteners which contain dextrose. I could't figure out why I felt terrible all the time.
