it depends, if you have a clean record and spit in someone's face you might either do community service, jail time, anger management. BUT if you spit on police officers, security guard, or any other it will be far more serious than spitting on your neighbor or who ever
Another View: DISAGREE with the above answer. In most (all?) jurisdictions it is considered the crime of assault to spit on another person - especially in this day of communicable diseases capable of being spread by bodily fluids.
What the court MIGHT do bears no resemblance of how the law is actually written.
