Don't know about vampires but a werewolf can be by blood(meaning some one in your family line was a werewolf) or by spiritual encounter(meaning a dead werewolf takes over your body or you actually were born dead but a dead werewolf claimed it as their own)

No, they are both fictional creatures.

A male vampire can father a child by a living woman - the child is known as a Dhampir and has the stealing life-force potential although this is rarely practiced while the child is yet living as it has no need to do so. Also there are certain heightened sensory abilities that come with the condition but the super-powers attributed to blade, Bloodrayne and other vampires/Dhampirs are embarrassing exaggerations.

A special type of werewolf known as a Lycan inherits his/her condition, not by being bitten. King Lycaon was a mythical king of Arcadia who Zeus turned into a wolf for serving him human flesh. It is from his descendants that we have the race of Lycans.
