One way is to join the Community Outreach program and become a WikiGuide Greeter. WikiGuides have access to a list of new contributors. They go to the new contributor's message board and welcome them to the site. Community Outreach has an ongoing WikiGuide contest, with a prize each month for the WikiGuide who greets the most new contributors. There are a lot more that you can find on the community roles page. There are also unofficial groups made by other members of the site. If you ask another member they might know of a group you might be interested in.

When you complete a mission in The Initiates Program (TIP) your completion is posted to the Community Outreach Program. Community Outreach is composed of WikiGuides whose job is to congratulate members on their achievements around the site.
