It's possible that you ovulated late and did get pregnant and that is why your period is late. It's alot more possible (especially if you have regular periods) that something else is delaying your period, such as stress, or worrying about pregnancy. If you period doesn't show up soon, and you still have a negative pregnancy test, talk to your doctor!

no because if you are pregnant even at an early stage in your pregnancy the hcg hormone shows up

Perform a pregnancy test to determine if you are pregnant. If you are pregnant, see your Doctor for confirmation of your pregnancy.

User Avatar

Yes. Home pregnancy tests only read up to a certain amount of hCG or the pregnancy hormone. Anything above that number would read negative.

User Avatar

If you took a home pregnancy test it can because they are not always reliable. Go see your obgyn for a proper test and examination.

User Avatar

It depends what you mean by 'late'. Late in the day, yes you could because the hormones are not concentrated enough in the urine. Late in pregnancy, if you are far on in pregnancy a test shows negative because diffeerent hormones are produced and the ones a pregnancy test uses are reduced.

User Avatar

Yes. Sometimes the hormone that shows up when you are pregnant can not be detected by home pregnancy tests.

When you miss your period and a home pregnancy shows up negative

User Avatar

If you are thinking you are 3 months pregnant and a preg test still shows negative, then this cannot be the case. It is possible a preg tes will not show positive until you are 6 weeks alone (if you have low HCG levels), but not 12 weeks. If you "feel" pregnant, and you are still testing negative, it could be a phantom pregnancy, or there could be something wrong with your periods.

User Avatar

Yes. The hormone levels have to go up for the test and if they aren't there it will be negative. Sometimes you are pregnant, but there is a problem and a natural abortion is taking place so the test shows negative.

User Avatar

Answeryes it could just be that your hormone levels were low when you took the last test. But to have 4 positive and one negative! Your pregnant!hi you might actually be pregnant but if you tested to early you could have detected a chemical pregnancy and that means the egg and sperm fertilized but it did not implant that is why they say to wait tell you have missed your pd. but good luck I'm praying for you

User Avatar

Pregnancy tests can turn out negative when you are pregnant. The best thing to do is have a blood test that measures the amount of HCG in your blood. This will determine if your pregnant or not hun.

User Avatar

I wouldn't think so.If your bleeding and the test shows negative then you shouldn't be pregnant, but sometimes the test doesnt show up until your second month of pregnancy and you can still bleed a little.or if your upset about something sometimes it will tricks on your body

User Avatar

It's possible, but unlikely. In such an event, the chances are that you're taking the test too early- it takes about 6 weeks to determine whether a woman really is pregnant or whether she's just undergoing a late period. Pregnancy tests nowadays are very reliable, but they aren't completely infallible- however, if you ARE pregnant and the test shows negative, it would be very unusual.

Most home pregnancy tests should be accurate from around 2 weeks after ovulation (coinciding with the time your period is due). If it shows negative at this point and you still miss your period, wait another week and retest. Pregnancy tests test for a hormone called HCG which basically doubles every day in early pregnancy, so after around 3 weeks of negative testing, you are probably not pregnant. If in doubt go to the doctor and get a blood test which will prove for definite eitherway.

It can take weeks until the test shows negative after a miscarriage. The hormones takes time to catch up.

User Avatar

Yes you can. I'm 18 and 3 months pregnant. I was starting off with my regular periods but, out of the blue my periods just stopped for 6 months I took a home pregnancy test(hpt) it came out negative. So I went to the doctor to get a blood test done and found out I was 3 MONTHS PREGO I asked my doctor why did I have a negative result and it was because my hcg levels were not high enough for the hpt to detect the pregnancy. So the answer to your question is yes you can be pregnant

It is always best to see a doctor because pregnancy tests are not always 100% accurate. If you think you may be pregnant, consult a physician. There are also free pregnancy clinics where I live in Louisiana, check the yellow pages for free pregnancy help or something similar.

User Avatar

It sounds like you are pregnant. Read the instructions of the test. It should tell you what is a positive result and what is a negative.

User Avatar

sometimes home test even shows false result. We cant believe the home test 100%

User Avatar

u can be 1 week pregnant and get the symptoms but i take at least 3-4 weeks to show in some people

User Avatar

Yes, buy a pregnancy test. the result shows up in minutes.

User Avatar

Yes. Check w/your physician. A home pregnancy test sometimes can show inconclusive when you are indeed pregnant, or the positive sign is so faint that it particially shows up misleading to a negative.

You can purchase a home pregnancy test to see if you may be pregnant. If it shows you are pregnant, then you should go to a doctor to be positive.
