You can't become pregnant during your period - there is no egg present, also even when you conceive it takes around 10 days for a fertilized egg to implant before you'd be considered pregnant. You can however get pregnant as a result of sex on your period, if conditions are right sperm can survive up to a week and by that time you may have ovulated and thus become pregnant.

Any time you have unprotected sex there is a chance you will become pregnant. Depending on the timing of your intercourse and ovulation the chances go up and down. Having sex about a week before your period is at the tail end of your fertility timeframe, and you can still have your period and be pregnant. You probably should see a doctor about a blood test to see if you are pregnant.

However, if you're unsure about your menopause status or have concerns, it's best to consult a healthcare provider.
