Yes. You simply phone your bank and explain to them. A block will be put on immediately - I had to do this once.
Also, if you suspect someone has made unauthorized charges, you simply phone your bank and report it. They will put a block on immediately, send some forms for you to fill out and you usually have 72 hours to provide the needed information - I did this quite recently with great success.
