How much tobacco can you bring back from Italy?

Although Bulgaria is a member of the EU their tobacco duty is not yet fully harmonised with eu levels. Therefore at present, assuming you are from the UK, you cannot bring back the full EU quota ( a vague 'reasonable amount for personal consumption') I believe it is still only 200 cigarettes from Bulgaria but best to check at time of travel.

How much tobacco can you bring back from Spain to UK?

UK customs stats that 1 person may bring the following tobacco based products back from Spain: 3200 cigarettes - 400 cigarillos - 200 cigars - 3 kg of smoking tobacco obviously there must be some method by which a combination of these items may be disallowed but that i am unsure of. Officially you do not have to pay any duty on tobacco bought, with tax paid, in another EU country. Though there are certain restriction with some, Estonia for instance and with some island territories. Check this carefully. There is no limit if it is bought for personal use or as gifts and you have carried it yourself. However, HM Customs are likely to ask you questions if you have more than 3 Kgs. Tobacco usually comes in a pouch of 50 gm and in 'sleeves' or packages of 10, therefore you should be able to carry 6 'sleeves' with no problems. If you cannot convince them it is for personal use then they will confiscate it. You can appeal, but this can be a lengthy process, by which time the tobacco will have been destroyed. You can ask for compensation but this involves litigation, which can be expensive. Similar restrictions are place on cigarettes, cigars and alcohol. The Customs officials will ask questions if you have a van full or a boot/trunk full or an attempt has been made to hide it.

How many cartons of cigarettes can you legally bring back from Belgium?

According to the Government's own web-site (see related link) there is (apparently) no restriction. HOWEVER you must be able to satisfy customs that the amount you're bringing back is for PERSONAL use. If you tried to bring back ten kilos of tobacco, you'd have a hard time convincing customs you're a 'heavy smoker' - so - just be sensible with the quantity. Anyway - remember - you can always split it amongst your travelling companions (provided they are over 18 !)
