Of course you can! Animals are welcomed by the airlines. Smaller dogs and all cats are allowed to travel in the passenger compartment of airplanes, provided you notify the airline ahead of time. Larger animals are checked as baggage (fees do apply) and will be made available to you at the baggage claim after you land.
Letting an animal LOOSE in the baggage claim however will cause problems.
