in my opinion, that is highly unlikely, I don't think that carrying a gun anywhere is legal, but Mississippi is a Shall-Issue state, Shall-Issue states are those that distribute permits so long as the applicants meet the requirements. These requirements vary from state to state. In general, they might include being a valid state resident, meeting the age requirement, submitting fingerprints, passing a computerized background check, attending a firearms safety class and paying a fee.

Can a non felon drive in their car with a loaded handgun?

The majority of states prohibit driving with a loaded handgun unless the person possessing the gun has a carry permit. Some states do allow keeping a handgun loaded in the car but require that it be locked away. Texas is interesting - loaded guns must be out of sight. Other states, like Maryland, are incredibly anti-gun and take their laws seriously. In California, if you carry a loaded gun or part of a gun (e.g. a loaded clip) in the car and it is not in a locked container, you will go to jail and you will be charged with a felony.

What is the law in Tennessee for carrying a hand gun in your car if you have a cwp?

If you have a valid handgun permit from any U.S. state, you can carry the gun loaded and have it anywhere in the vehicle. If you do not have a valid carry permit, you must abide by federal transport law, which basically says the gun must be unloaded and not accessible. The best choice is unloaded and in the trunk with the ammo in a separate container.

It depends on what you mean. If you mean can a person carry a handgun loaded and accessible in their vehicle solely because he is in the military, the answer is no. A person can only carry a handgun loaded and accessible in their vehicle if they otherwise qualify to do so. Each state sets its own laws regarding that. Some states require a permit to have a loaded gun in your car, some states don't.
