Yes casual kissing can transmit the herpes virus.
Yes you can still get herpes if you gave a girl a kiss, no tongue, and you have no cuts on your lips. Herpes is transmitted by skin to skin contact.

It's possible but unlikely.

It's not common to have HSV2 on the mouth. It's more common to have HSV1, which is the more common cause of cold sores and fever blisters.

If you kiss some one while they have a visible cold sore or fever blister then there is a very high chance that you could get it.

If there are no signs of a break out then you have a very small chnce of getting it.

Can kissing give you zits?

Zits? No, absolutely not. Herpes, however (a sexually transmitted disease that can give you sores on both your genitals and mouth), can be contracted by kissing. Worst of all, you can catch it by kissing when your kissing partner isn't even showing signs. In other words, watch who you're kissing and make sure you can trust that they're disease free.
