From the looks of it, no, there is no sequel. If you have a GBA or DS that can play GBA games, though, you could play Sonic Battle. Also, Sonic the Fighters was itself based on another video game series by Sega called Fighting Vipers. Originally available for the Sega Saturn and playable in arcaeds, Sega re-released the game for the PS2 in Japan. If you don't it not being in English, give this a shot. Also, the Virtua Fighterseries is very similar and is by Sega, if you're willing to give it a shot.

This would be considered piracy if you take 7,777 video games and put it on your Game Boy Advance. Anyway, you might want to get a GBA Movie Player on eBay for eighty dollars or something and a 512 MB Compact Flash Card to go with it. It won't fit that many games on it, but you'll need a lot of 512 MB Flash Cards to fit 7,777 games on it. The GBA Movie Player supports Sega Master System, NES, Game Boy/Game Boy Color. Possibly even Sega Game Gear, not sure. There is a PSP with custom firmware which can support even more emulators and games and allows larger memory sticks up to 64 GB. Hope this helps! :)
You can migrate GBA Pokemon to a DS Pokemon game but you can't trade using the GBA game trying to trade with another GBA game.
