If the cable is coming down from the ceiling it's simple. You first make sure this breaker is off. In this case you just cut a panel from the wall directly above the old outlet, extending to the top of where you want the new outlet, and from centre to centre of studs, then re-install the box, and replace the wallboard. If the supply cable is coming from below this is more difficult. and you need to fit another length of appropriate wire to the existing one, in an approved junction box where the outlet is, then run it up to the outlet box and fit it into the socket.
